Guitarist seeks to create Ramones

Description
I’m a guitar player and I have a classic rock cover band that is slowly coming together, but I had an idea to put together a side project that could be put together relatively quick and get out there and play for people, like at the Double Down Saloon and such ilk. I’ve been using Ramones songs to practice down strumming and I’ve been having a lot of fun jamming along and so I thought it’d be fun to put a Ramones cover band together. Here’s the rub, I don’t care about looks or age, just ability and love of the music. I look nothing like Johnny Ramone and I’m not going to shave my beard, buy a Mosrite guitar or wear a bowl-cut wig. I just want to find a group of musicians that can play the material competently and have fun doing it. I’m not looking to conquer the Strip or anything, but if circumstances swing our way, I’m not gonna say no either (I don’t know of many casinos that’d be interested in this type of material anyway). So, at a minimum I’m looking for a bass player, a drummer, and a singer. As mentioned above, age doesn’t matter, if you're 16 or 60 and love the music, can play it well, have you own equipment, and are dependable, you’ve got as good a shot as making the band as anybody else. Gender doesn’t matter either, nor if you look like a “Ramone” or not. The only thing I am concerned with is playing the material well and having fun doing it. As well as playing the guitar, I’m a decent singer but not necessarily looking to front the band. Once we a have a solid Ramones set together, I’d love to expand and do stuff like The Sex Pistols, The Clash, X, etc. as well as proto-punk material like The Stooges, MC5, The Velvet Underground, etc. I don’t have a private practice space, but l know of a couple of reasonable rent-a-studio places with drum kits, backlines and a PA. Like I mentioned above, this is a side project, low pressure and for fun, but at the same time I’d like people that also understand that it is serious too (that is band practice is not an excuse for getting drunk or high, but precious time for pulling the material together so we can get out and gig in a few months or less). Being responsible, practicing/learning the material at home and coming prepared is a must. Hope to hear from some like-minded souls. Dave
