Pedestrian Killed By Hit-And-Run Lexus Driver In Vista

VISTA, CA — Police on Sunday were looking for the driver of white Lexus who struck a pedestrian in Vista and left him to die in the road. According to Sgt. Hernan Gonzalez of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, a white Lexus sedan, possibly an IS300, was going southbound on East Vista Way when it struck a man as he was crossing the street Saturday night. The crash was reported at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, and paramedics arrived on the scene at East Vista Way and Arcadia Avenue to find the victim lying in the street. He was rushed to Palomar Medical Center Escondido, where he was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, said Gonzalez. According to investigators, the white Lexus sedan was last seen fleeing northbound on East Vista Way toward Fallbrook. City News Service and Patch Staffer Paige Austin contributed to this report.
