My daughter is going to college and we have to rehome her guinea pigs. We have 2 sweet female guinea pigs that each come with their own cage, used to being handled, and good with pets. These two don't care for each other and are kept separated (which is odd because they are typically very social). $20 per guinea pig to ensure that they are a pet.
