After MANY attempts to troubleshoot and repair the Fluval 406 filter for our class RES, Big Bertha, we find ourselves calling time of death for this unit. I recently (a mere 2 days ago) purchased a new tank for her (no matter what I did, I just couldn’t stop the leak of her original tank) and just have no other “free” money with which to purchase a new external canister filter. Although the school appreciates the classroom critters, I pay for everything out of pocket. Needless to say, I’m wiped out. If anyone out in the Craigslist universe has a working external canister filter (new or gently used) for a 65 gallon tank, and is willing to help out by donating it, you would truly be my hero! (And Big Bertha will be grateful as heck, too!)
