Our family farm has 6 horses on 21 acres, 3 dogs and a home. We are looking for a dependable and punctual farm hand to help take care of our horses, farm and home. Part time or full time work hours are available. Responsibilities are as follows: - Arrive to work at 7am Monday - Friday - Feed horses - In summer months, clean manure from paddocks. In winter months, turn horses out and clean stalls as well as cleaning paddocks - Maintain and repair paddock fencing and equipment as needed - Pull weeds, ivy and blackberry or rake leaves as needed to keep pastures and yard weed-free, clean and tidy. - Help out with any other outdoor and horse chores - Clean house, including bathrooms and kitchen. Dust and vacuum, tidy-up boxes and other items that need to be put away. Job requirements: - Must be punctual and reliable. - This is a physically demanding job. Must be fit and strong enough to lift 50 pound hay bales and push heavy wheel barrows. - Pay attention to detail by noticing any damage to fences or equipment and then be able to independently make repairs. - Be able to operate electric equipment such as edge trimmers, small chain saws, hedge clippers, rototillers, etc. - Be fully vaccinated against Covid19. - This is a W-2 job. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States. - Be willing to work long-term. This is not a temporary position. - Must have reliable transportation. There is no bus service to our farm which is located in NW Portland on McNamee Road, just off of Skyline Road, in zip code 97231.
