We need to rehome our 1.5yr old mini Aussie/blue heeler dog, Willow. A couple months ago we adopted her from someone that was looking to rehome her, we thought she’d be a great fit for our family, we already have an older Aussie mix that we’ve had for almost 9yrs. I believe the person rehoming her was less than honest about her personality and said she was great with kids and other dogs. She’s done fine with our other dog but we have 5 kids and she’s decided that our 11yr old is “her person” and doesn’t like anyone else and keeps biting and growling at the other kids. After trying to break her of the habit we finally saw our vet to ask for advice and she recommended finding her a new home, preferably on a ranch where she would have a job to do, because as of now she’s Decided protecting our 11yr old is her job and gets aggressive towards anyone she views as a threat, even if it’s the other kids just playing with their sister. The vet said she’d do best with either a single person or someone with an older only child. My 11yr old is heartbroken and absolutely loves her but like the vet said it’s just to much of a risk with 4 other kids in the house that Willow is viewing as threats to “her person” and we can’t risk her hurting one of the other kids. We really want to find a loving home for her, this is really difficult because she is such a loving dog but sadly she’s not a “big family” dog. She’s spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
$100 rehoming fee, she’ll come with her crate, leash, collar, and some of her current food to help with the transition.
