Learn how to use web-browser based OnShape to make parametric 3D models. OnShape is a fast, powerful browser-based 3D design software. I'll teach you the basics to create simple shapes that can be 3D printed & machined. OnShape is similar to SolidWorks / Fusion360 but much faster and more accessible. In this workshop, we will go over: - How to navigate the 3D space - How to create a sketch - How to create parameters - How to create solids from the sketch - How to export your designs for 3D printing or laser cutting Bring your laptop to class, with a mouse and Google Chrome installed. Highly suggest downloading OnShape ahead of the class. Before the workshop,, sign up at www.OnShape.com and request a free hobby account. Sign up to try the pro version,, then click on the hobby account. Instructor bio: Tony Baltazar ([email protected]) has been teaching Arduino and related classes for 4 years. He has made my projects using Arduino including a garden management system, a boat race timer, color changing light sabers and many more awesome things. Important Information COVID-19: Too keep everyone safe; masks (can provide), hand sanitizing (at entrances), temperature checks and social distancing are required at Makerspace. Maximum class size has been reduced to allow for social distancing. Ages: 12 and up Class fees: All class fees include materials. If you are a current Bellingham Makerspace member or scheduled volunteer you may select the discounted member registration. The financially challenged are encouraged to request a 50% off, no questions asked, scholarship discount. Simply email the request to the instructor. Volunteers may be eligible for training discounts. Cancellations: All classes have a minimum number of participants. If the instructor specified number is not reached 24hrs before the class is scheduled to start, the class will be cancelled and any registrations refunded (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). Refund policy: You may request a refund from Eventbrite no later than 24hrs before the class starts (Eventbrite fees are non refundable). After that point instructors and participants are committed and we won't be able to provide any refunds. Donations: Want to help the financially challenged?, donate any amount to the Bellingham Makerspace Scholarship Fund. We want to make it possible for everyone to take the classes they want to take.
