Join the District 3 Fire Department and the Plattsburgh Professional Firefighters in remembering the victims of 9/11/2001 20 years later. 20 years ago, on 9/11/2001, our country endured one of the largest tragedy’s in our history. On that fateful morning, 343 NYC Firefighters Along with many other first responders, heroically entered the twin towers to do what they did best, help people in trouble. They did not know what to expect and ultimately they paid the ultimate sacrifice that day. The District 3 Fire Department and the Plattsburgh Professional Firefighters Loval 2421 have joined together to honor those individuals by hosting a memorial stair climb in their honor. The stair climb will take place at the Kehoe administration building on the campus of SUNY Plattsburgh on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Each participant will carry a name of an individual who did not make it home that day. Each participant will receive a T Shirt and a participation medal while supplies last. All proceeds will go to the tunnel to towers foundation, which is a nonprofit foundation who assists first reponders and veterans with mortgaging homes and building homes based on specific needs of those that have injuries.
