A lot of the ads on here are requesting a "small rehoming fee to ensure they go to a good home." Because psychopaths are incapable of getting 20 bucks. "What's wrong with an adoption fee? The shelters charge one." The shelters also give the kittens and a puppy's their immunizations. Many times the animals are fixed as well. What does your adoption fee go to.....? Here's the deal, I can give you 30 bucks (for what I dont know) or I can put it toward the bill i get after the multiple vet appointments ill need to ensure the animal is healthy. "A small rehoming fee for an adult cat/dog to ensure a good home." So for whatever reason (I know, it wasnt your fault) but for whatever reason, you are bailing on the commitment you made to be a forever home to that animal. Now, not only do you want me to take on your responsibility, but you want me to pay for the privilege? Do people not realize that pet ownership is for life? Seriously though, how does "a small rehoming fee" ensure anything? I'm sure your 9 year old golden retriever will feel better knowing that you made 35 dollars off of their abandonment. And your adoption fees are exploitative. What a great way to incentivize keeping your pet knocked up.
