Learn how to weave on a frame loom using a heddle. Here's an opportunity to learn to weave! Make a small tapestry! You'll learn how to set up a loom, use a heddle, how to plain weave and finish off the piece of your handmade cloth. Participants are loaned a loom and other needed equipment for the workshop to use during the workshop. Yarns are provided during the workshop. About the artist/instructor: Calandra Cooper is a multi-disciplinary creative that finds beauty in the aesthetics of textile, including using natural dyes, paints, and chalk pastel to create interest, pattern and texture on fabric and other natural fibers. Calandra also enjoys creating sculpture for the body through the art of fashion draping and pattern making. Calandra is the owner of Inigo Arts and has taught creative workshops through local community colleges, art venues and to private parties. Calandra is also a beekeeper.
