Hosted by Recording Artist, ASIAHN. Panelists: Chiquita Lockley (Filmmaker, Eggs Over Easy Film), Phylicia Fant (Executive Producer, Eggs Over Easy Film), Riqua Hailes Turner (Founder, Just Cannabis LA). Egga Over Easy: Black Women & Fertility is a documentary film about the choices that Black women make where our fertility is concerned. These choices include being childfree by choice, having procedures like IVF, dealing with the pain of miscarriages, and experiencing the relief of egg freezing, adoption & surrogacy.  The intention of this film is to open the conversation and remove the stigma and shame that's attached to the topic of our reproduction. We discuss the challenges of women who society has given the role of “Fertile Myrtle” since slavery. We shine a light on fibroids and PCOS and endometriosis, along with the crippling financial challenges that keep us from even questioning whether or not reproductive assistance is possible. This film highlights the disparities in medical care and offers alternative solutions for women who would like to mother. Historically, we won’t talk about it. And so we suffer. Until or unless the conversation starts, until there is mainstream discourse about our bodies and our fertility and reproductive rights, we will continue to suffer. We have to talk about it.  And the time is NOW.
