WEX Space Fest is a one day celebration of our place in space! https://tinyurl.com/WEXSpaceFest2021 The WEX Foundation is hosting an International Space Station downlink at the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology in Port San Antonio! Area students will have their pre-recorded questions answered live by THREE of the astronauts on-board and the event will be aired on NASA TV and live streamed. The WEX Space Fest 2021 planned events (subject to change) include: *A Space Parade complete with a trophy for Best Spaced-out Vehicle. Want to enter? Go to our website under Contests! *ISS downlink with NASA astronaut Megan McArthur, NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough and ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet; all members of Expedition 65 and Space X Crew2. *Keynote with Dr. Josef Schmid, ISS Flight Surgeon with a Q&A after *A panel of Boeing engineers working on ISS projects will describe their work and answer your questions *A Space Entrepreneurship workshop *A Mission Patch Design Art Competition *EXCITING Hands-on activities with partner organizations (booths) *SAMSAT tours *Earn a WEX Space Fest Digital Badge You can choose to either participate in person (limited seating) or virtually. Each student registrant in grades 6-12 attending in person can bring up to two(2) adult guests. If you represent a club or organization that would like to bring a group of 6th-12th grade students to the in person event, please email your interest to Joules Webb, Director of Education - WEX Foundation. at [email protected]. Ways to participate: *Enter a spaced-out vehicle in the Space Parade, both organizations and individuals may enter (register on event website under Contests) *Watch the live streamed events (WEX will provide student activities for completion during each of the segments to earn a digital badge) If attending virtually, livestream information will be sent shortly before the event.
