Description
To help promote events and raise support for the 2021 Marine Corps Birthday Ball, MARFORPAC is proud to host this year's Chili Cook-Off. 2021CHILI COOK-OFF RULES Event: September 2, 2021, 1130 - Guest Judging; 1100 - ‘People’s Choice’ competition All MARFORPAC personnel are encouraged to enter or to come taste and vote. Tasting ends at 1230 or until all food is gone. CHILI COOK OFF COMPETITION: 1. All teams are automatically entered in 2 separate competitions; A Judges competition for Chili and a People’s Choice competition (winners are chosen by attendee votes) for 2 categories (Chili and theme). 2. Winners will be announced at 1245 based on attendee votes submitted before 1230 3. Awards are given for Best Chili, and Best theme in People’s Choice for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Judge’s Pick for Best Chili will be just 1st place 4. Final decisions are based on votes. There will be no ties. A tie breaker will be decided by a Command selected judge. 5. Small disposable bowls, spoons, and napkins will be provided. 6. You will have access to one electrical outlet. TEAMS RULES: 1. Competitors may enter solo or as a team (only 2 team members will receive a trophy) 2. Each entry must provide a minimum of 6 quarts of chili (Last year, teams ran out of food early. More food may mean more votes). Only one type of Chili per Team may be entered. 3. For safety reasons, ingredients must be available to view for attendees with allergies. 4. Team is required to bring own: 6 Quart Crock Pot for Chili (no open flames allowed), serving utensil, table cover (5 foot table provided), and any theme decorations and/or costumes. 5. Please bring an extension cord just in case your crockpot cord is short. 6. Team must check in at the registration table no later than 1045. First come first choice on table location. Tables will be available for set up as early as 1000. 7. Team is responsible for cleaning up their area at the end of the event and removing all items from the area by 1330. 8. Teams must have samples available for Judges no later than 1125. Guest Judging will be held in another room. 9. Teams must be decorated and ready to provide samples for the People’s Choice competition by 1100. 10. Contestants must email the below information to the below POC: Individuals may only be on one team. a. Team Name- This name will be used to help identify you for People’s Choice voting. b. Team members c. POC Email and phone # d. Work Section e. What are you entering in the competition? Chili, or theme (may enter one or all).
