ABOUT WALKER HAYES: Originally from Mobile, Alabama, his debut album boom., co-produced by multi-GRAMMY Award winning producer and songwriter Shane McAnally, led Billboard to call his music “personal, soul-bearing storylines; rolling rhymes; and Macklemore-like cadence.” The 10-track album includes the RIAA certified, Double-Platinum, Top 10 hit “You Broke Up With Me,” as well as the highly anticipated follow up single, “Craig.” Hayes’ music, including hit singles “90s Country” and “Don’t Let Her” and most recent releases “I Hope You Miss Me” and “Make You Cry,” has gone on to be streamed over half a billion times. As the Washington Post stated “Hayes has broken into the mainstream by sounding different.” ABOUT THE WESTHAVEN FOUNDATION: The Westhaven Foundation was started by a committed group of residents over 12 years ago and is an officially registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity. The mission of the organization is to serve our community through financial support and volunteerism and to be a catalyst to help others in the community conduct programs of their own. The Westhaven Foundation has raised over $1,000,000 over the past 15 years for numerous charitable projects. Our primary giving focus is to fund leading edge medical research in the areas of childhood cancer, funding for public educational programs at local schools, provide college scholarships to students that exemplify service to others and to promote the arts and life-long learning. ABOUT PORCHFEST: By most accounts, Porchfest has its roots in Ithaca, New York, where residents of the Fall Creek neighborhood realized that they had an abundance of musicians and front porches. Gretchen Hildreth and Lesley Greene started the festival as a way for their neighbors to showcase their musical talents on ready-made “stages.” The concept is very simple – find musicians to play, and find porches for them to play on. The event started small, with about 20 participating musicians and host homes. There was, and still is, no money involved, and very little organization is required. Bands, singers and instrumentalists from a wide variety musical genres participate in the festival for no other reason than to showcase their talents and engage the community. Residents volunteer their porches as a way to support the local music scene and interact with their neighbors. Westhaven’s Porchfest is very similar. A schedule of assigned timeslots in several parks with homeowners creating their own Porchfest experience. One exciting difference between the original Porchfest concept and Westhaven’s event is the addition of an evening concert to wrap up an afternoon of music. After wandering around the neighborhood enjoying intimate performances, residents and their guests will make their way to Town Center. This is sure to be the perfect end to a fun fall in Westhaven. Westhaven’s Porchfest has become a beloved annual event inspired by the original Porchfest in Ithaca. The Westhaven Foundation is an independent nonprofit 501c3 organization established by the residents of Westhaven to promote lifelong learning, leadership, preservation, philanthropy and environmental awareness in Franklin, Tennessee
