Eclectic Conversations with Giancarlo Simpson, Jazmin Kylene, and Jonathan de Lavelanet (Middle and High School Class) Join us at Rohi's Readery for the first of a series of incredible gathering with Eclectic Conversations- this one focused on Middle and High School students! Eclectic Conversations conversation party is an event where people connect through active dialogue. Led by Giancarlo Simpson, Jazmin Kylene, and Jonathan de Lavelanet, Eclectic Conversations is a safe space where we can connect, express, and share ourselves in a fun and sacred environment, free of judgment. From elementary schools, to universities, to random parks and venues throughout South Florida, these conversation parties have given individuals of all ages, colors, and backgrounds a chance to see themselves in each other. About the founders: - Jonathan de Lavelanet is a youth educator skilled in the areas of public speaking, creative writing, and leisure program design. Jonathan currently mentors underserved and privileged youth in an effort to bridge the social gap. Born and raised in South Florida, Jonathan services his community by addressing social disconnection and inspiring meaningful action towards a more unified community. Jonathan is an avid songwriter, performer, amateur chef, and video game connoisseur. He is most notably, a failed comedian, yet a successful recording artist. - Giancarlo Simpson is in his last year of pursuing his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy, and holds a Masters in the Applied Psychology – Counseling Program. Giancarlo began his career teaching AP, IB and dual-enrollment psychology courses in a High School setting. He has also taught Psychology and Sociology at The Sigma Institute of Health Careers and is currently a Full-time faculty member at Lynn University. Giancarlo believes that progress is a process and he is committed to assisting clients in their journey of growth and understanding. He is an empathetic mental health professional committed to advocacy and the development of individuals by providing resources in both personal and community based settings. His experience working with adolescent teens comes from a therapeutic and academic background as a psychology teacher. His background in immigration provides a perspective that may aid clients struggling with assimilation. His therapeutic approaches include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to maximize your full potential and to help you commit to action that improves your life. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy incorporating coping skills to address a presenting problem. NARM to help strengthen the person's emotional self-regulation while strengthening interpersonal connections. Bowen Family Systems Theory, which explores how patterns develop due to family experiences - Jazmin Kylene is a journalist and certified spiritual counselor. Guided by her purpose, she created the conscious media platform Lali La Luna TV, seen in over four million homes on all streaming services. She has collaborated with outlets like Black Female Therapists and Ethel's Club, led workshops and healing circles, designed a line of color healing clothing, and currently provides one-on-one natal chart readings and spiritual counseling sessions. She has furthered her studies with the Holistic Arts Institute and Oak Astrology School. Can't wait to see you all Revolutionary Readers!
