Gateway Playhouse "Songs for a New World" Gets Standing Ovation

The heart and soul of musical theater is alive and well at the Gateway Playhouse in the form of the musical "Songs for a New World." All that is missing is the audience this shows deserve. Folks need to come back and fill the seats in this fantastic venue. The skilled and enthusiastic young actors are giving it their all and letting all their talents fill the stage and theater with an energy only good live theater can produce. Usually in every show there is one actor who puts the show on his or her back and carries the night.However in Songs for a New World the whole ensemble as one carries the show. Christian Douglas, Mary Kate Moore, Caleb Mitchell, Alyssa Wray, Morgan Billings Smith and Jordan Goodsell are earning standings ovations after every show. As Ralph the long time vendor serving the beverages and snacks said at intermission, "It's a process to get everyone to come back, but at least now we have started the process. These kids are wonderful aren't they?" I think if you get to the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport before the show closes on July 31 you will see Ralph got it right, the cast is wonderful.
