Description

Press release from the Town of Concord: July 23, 2021 IMPORTANT NOTICE Concord Water Availability Alert – July 23, 2021   In light of the successful completion of the Phase I Intake Replacement Project associated with the Nagog Pond supply as well as favorable weather conditions, the mandatory Lawn Watering Restriction has been lifted by the Public Works Commission and de-escalated to a voluntary Seasonal Water Conservation Advisory.  Concord Water asks that you continue to use water responsibly, especially outdoors.   Your individual effort is imperative in ensuring that water demand does not exceed our available supply.   Here are some helpful tips for using outdoor water more responsibly: Only water your lawn 1-day or 1-inch per week – remember, this includes rainfall Water before the sun comes up to maximize moisture uptake and avoid evaporation losses Check for leaky, broken, or clogged sprinkler heads regularly to avoid wasting both water and money Set your mower blades to 2-3 inches high. Taller grass shades roots and retains moisture better than a closely-clipped lawn Concord Water will continue to monitor customer demand and available water supply around the clock and provide additional information as it becomes available. Thank you for doing your part to reduce unnecessary outdoor water use.   If you have questions or would like additional information, please visit www.concordma.gov/conservation or call Alexandra Wahlstrom, Senior Environmental and Regulatory Coordinator at 978-318-3250.
