First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 98 Low: 61. Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: Leak-Free Sacramento is working to help homeowners fix costly leaks for free. Homeowners in need can apply for the help and Leak-Free Sacramento will take it from there, covering the costs and working the permitting and repair processes. Right now the program is on a fairly small scale and there is a waitlist, but program leader Lance Eicher says it's not an issue with funding. They are working to find the labor to expand. (FOX40) This guy gets "neighbor of the year" as he thwarted an attempt to steal his neighbor's property. He noticed a moving truck with people making multiple trips into a neighboring residence at the Riva on the River condos. In total, $3,000 worth of items were loaded into the truck. Before the thieves left, the neighbor took pictures of the truck, the suspects and the items. The items were recovered from a storage unit belonging to one of the suspects. (CBS Sacramento) Christmas came early for this Sacramento boy who was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Downtown Macy's partnered with Make A Wish to make Pastor's Christmas in July wish come true! Santa joined from the North Pole via Zoom. And, with a little Christmas magic, Pastor found out that Santa would be making visit to his house in person in November to celebrate with his family. (CBS Sacramento)A Spare The Air day has been issued for Friday and Saturday in the Sacramento region. Calm winds and triple digit temps are combining with the smoke from surrounding wildfires to make the air "unhealthy for sensitive groups." (ABC10)The Kings are hosting a free draft party for fans! Each person can get up to 4 free tickets at the Sacramento Kings website while supplies last. The party takes place at the Golden 1 Center on July 29th. Grab some tickets for you and your friends to come out and see the draft on the big screen and find out who the Kings select with the #9 pick. (NBA.com) Saturday's events in Sacramento Celebrate 2021 National Buffalo Soldier Day at historic Negro Bar on Folsom Lake. Honor the Buffalo Soldiers, learn some history and have some BBQ. (11:30 am)If Reggae is your thing, try ReggaeFest at Dark Heart Brewing. There will be 4 bands and of course some great brew, to help you celebrate the day. (3 pm)Have you been trying to get a pool party together but none of your friends has a pool? No worries! DJ 2RAW is throwing one for you! There will be a swim up bar, tacos, basketball courts and more for your partying enjoyment. (3 pm)Enjoy a day of mariachi music at the Mariachi Festival De Sacramento! There will be bands, singers and a DJ as well as food, art and fun! (4 pm)Attend (virtually) the final performance of Sacramento City College's production of Hamlet.
