Applicants MUST apply here: (Complete job description is located here) Please visit: www.ecscalifornia.org/careers GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep building equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve minor construction; painting, minor carpentry, prepping and repairing of interior walls. May be required to perform any other general maintenance tasks associated with the grounds, building maintenance, or equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: -Paint and repair windows, doors, minor woodwork, plaster, drywall and other parts of building structures. -Perform routine repair and preventive maintenance to ensure that building equipment and physical conditions are properly maintained, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. -Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches, precision measuring instruments. -Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment. -Will communicate with Facilities Manager any repairs that need additional planning or resources. -Estimate repair costs. -Order parts, supplies and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms. -Record maintenance and repair work performed using our maintenance software program -Drive work vehicle between sites and to building supply vendors. -Complete maintenance work orders as assigned in a timely manner -Provide moving services- load and unload office and classroom furniture. As well assist with the assembly furniture. -Perform light landscaping and groundskeeping work as needed -Conduct Quarterly Head Start Checklist and Monthly Facilities Checklist. Any other tasks associated with the general maintenance of the building, grounds or building equipment -Any other tasks associated with the general maintenance of the building, grounds or building equipment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of materials, codes, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, or other facility structures. Knowledge and skilled in the use of saws, routers, drills and other construction tools used in the repair and crafting of equipment and building repairs. Skilled in basic carpentry, drywall, painting and other skills required for general building maintenance. Ability to assess cost effective means of repair and safe maintenance of buildings and repairs according to any local codes or construction requirements. Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Two to three years experience in a general maintenance or facility maintenance position or similar. OTHER/SPECIAL: Ability to pass a physical examination, tuberculin skin test and proof of required immunizations. Fingerprint clearance required. Verification of insurance required for personal car usage. PHYSICAL: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs, carry building materials, drive vehicle, and operate maintenance equipment and tools.
