Description

You’re past 50... you want to get serious and make something out of nothing. Guitarist with a desire for a band that just wants to follow the muse. Not looking for a tribute band, a bar band (covers) or the wedding/corporate circuit. I’m not afraid to step outside that comfort zone and go for something different. Of course I’d love to do the covers that are itching to get covered. I’m all for that but to what end? I just want to meet players like me who want to take this seriously even if we don’t stand a chance at making it to festivals. Look, I keep hooking up with good players and we have fun... and then somehow things happen and weeks go by... a month or two... and it’s catch as catch can because someone is too high or too dry... whatever. The one thing that is constant is me... I’m always ready to go at any time because music has been my driving force and passion since the age of five. I’m 68 now and can rock with the best of them. I’m not the lead singer. I’m okay with a second guitar and welcome that. Need keyboards, an expressive and dynamic bassist... world class drummer. Everyone needs to be okay with cannabis - sorry but I’ve gotta have it - not necessarily for rehearsals or gigs but it’s not an issue I need to discuss. I smoke it and that’s that. I will manage the band. I’m going to lead the band unless someone can convince me to partner up and I would welcome that if we’re compatible. So far I will agree with others that have posted here... there aren’t many people up in Dutchess who can fit in. Most of the people who I’ve connected with are egomaniacs, marginal players, or simply not serious musicians but hackers who want to exchange a bunch of posts and then when it gets down to it, they make it sound like they can’t deal with me because I’m not serious or not a good fit - when it’s the other way around. Do NOT respond with an email. If you do I will know you didn’t read and understand this message. If you call me we can feel each other out and decide if it’s worth jumping in and humping our gear around to get started. Like me, you’re probably disappointed and discouraged - and rightly so. It’s actually rare to find a band that makes a good fit and gets along. I’ve been lucky a couple of times but, as you have probably guessed... nothing lasts very long. You know what to do.
