We rescued a very unsocialized and neglected Chinchilla, a year ago. We now have her so she will come out of her cage and eat treats from your hand. But if you try and pet or pick her up she will bite you. She needs a human who is not afraid of a little chinchilla nip to spend a lot of quality time with her. We are making a long-distance move and we are worried we won't be able to keep her cool enough for several days. She is 17 months old. Spent the first six months of her life as an abandoned classroom pet when covid hit so her social skills are lacking. She comes with a full setup and whatever food, dust and bedding are left at the time of adoption.
