The Ecstasy of Gold is Beckley Art Center's newest solo exhibition featuring the collage artistry of artist, Psychoflauge. Exhibition Reception: 👀Friday, August 6, from 6 - 7:30pmArtist lecture will begin at 6:30, followed by a Q&A segment.This exhibition will be on display from August 6, 2021 - September 11, 2021.A few thoughts from the artist, Psychoflauge, about his work and the colletion of his work that will be on display during this exhibition. "I’ve been telling myself this story now for the last decade. A conduit for old stories told in new ways. I make art with my heart, the more I think about it the more obfuscated things become. I counted a little over nine thousand pieces of paper that I cut out by hand for this project." "The Ecstasy of Gold is how it makes you feel. It's how it makes me feel and I’m not even a reliable author. " "Any participating audience member should view the collage with the knowledge that they are an active participant in the narration. Collage allows us to front row seats to the unfolding of experience in non linear fashion. You are the precog, the more you look into the future the more the choices fractal into further honeycomb." "Just because the electricity in my brain is flowing in a forward linear progression doesn’t mean I have to accept that this particular experience is the first time it has flowed forward nor even the last. My existence is a single fiber interwoven forever, a recursive joke I never grow tired of. This is my favorite story."
