Your registration gets you your green fees, golf cart, lunch, 2 drink tickets, and driving range time. We have hole prizes for longest drive, men and women, longest putt, and closest to the hole. This is a scramble style golf event meaning everyone tees off, then golfers pick up their ball scramble to whoever hit the best shot, and all play from there. This continues until the ball is hit into the hole. Registration and driving range time begins at 10:00am, SHOTGUN START AT 11:00am. This event was created in honor of "Papa Joe" Kloiber. Papa Joe started playing rugby in the 1960's, and played for Wisconsin Rugby Club as well as the Wisconsin Selects. Papa Joe helped found the Westside Harlequins Rugby Club in 1975. He served as player, coach, and president over the 37 year history of the club. Papa Joe started and coordinated the Lakefront 7's tournament and made it the largest and best run rugby tournament in the Midwest. Papa Joe was a driving force getting high school rugby started in Wisconsin, and founded the Marquette High School Rugby Club, and won the first state championship as coach. As the Harlequins transitioned to the Milwaukee Barbarians Rugby Club Papa Joe was honored as the first president of the club. In 2008 Papa Joe was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease. This would be a huge blow to anyone, but especially to Papa Joe. Having played in 6 different decades Papa Joe was a force on the field. But Papa Joe did more than rugby. Aside from being an avid golfer, he ran 2 marathons, then used cycling as his fix when he tore a ligament in his knee. Parkinson Disease is incredibly debilitating and though Papa Joe can't do what he once could, he still gets out there to support the boys as often as he can. He has been such an amazing ambassador to rugby in Wisconsin that I want to do something special, fun, and worthwhile in honor of him. Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association. We hope you can join us. To avoid fees you can pay via venmo @Joseph-Kloiber or paypal [email protected] (please include your foursome/names of who you're registering)
