Description

Our Homeschool Day this year features a tour of the house and highlights from our museum archive! The Lee-Fendall House Museum welcomes homeschoolers for Homeschool Day on Friday, October 1st! Our theme this fall, in honor of American Archives Month, will focus on archives and how we learn about history through documents. Tours of the house will be offered every hour starting at 10:00 AM with the last tour starting at 2:00 PM, with a limited number of people per session. Advance registration for a specific tour time is required. Face masks are recommended. Adults (18+) are $3, students (3-17) are $5, and children under 3 are free. If you have any questions, please contact Manager of Education Amanda Roper at [email protected] or call 703-548-1789. The Lee-Fendall House is a showcase of American history from three different centuries. Since its construction in 1785, the house has served as home to thirty-seven members of the Lee family, hundreds of convalescing Union soldiers during the American Civil War, and one of our nation’s most controversial and significant 20th century labor leaders, John L. Lewis.
