Band bashing and hatin' on your competition is as old as music itself. The thing is Rhode Island has always suffered from a particular breed of sanctimonious musicians who get uppity about that stuff and say you are not "helping the scene" with Bono-like pontification about unity and helping each other. These are almost always at the bottom rung of the local ladder and simply have zero experience of what it's actually like out there. Play a few gigs and meet your local bars, fans, and other bands...You'll learn real quick no one gives a shit about your big dreams about the scene. The bar only cares about money. The "fans" are really just there to drink, and the other bands will stand there arms crossed mocking you the entire time you play then shake your hand say"good set" and go right back to trashing you when you walk away. Man up bitches there is no room for snowflakes in the music business.
