Learn how to recognize signs of mental health challenges among youth and what to do until the appropriate help can begin. Youth Mental Health First Aid: Is an evidence-based program designed for adults who regularly interact with youth. Introduces common mental health challenges for youth, such as anxiety, depression, substance use, disruptive behavior disorders, and eating disorders. Will teach you what to do until appropriate professionals and other help can begin. Is a FREE 6.5-hour course taught by certified “Mental Health First Aid USA” instructors. Is valued at $150 per person, however the cost is paid through funding from SAMSHA. Additional Training Information: Participants are required to stay for the entire training to be eligible for certification. Lunch will be provided, however if limited to a certain diet, you may want to bring your own food items. Please dress in layers as the temperature in the training area may not be to your exact level of comfort. Free parking is available. COVID-19 Guidelines: • We will be practicing physical distancing. • Those who have been fully vaccinated can chose to wear or not to wear a face mask. • Those who have not been fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear a mask as recommended by the CDC. • For everyone’s health and safety, participants exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 will be asked to wear a mask (whether vaccinated or not), or may be asked to take the training at a later date.
