Rehoming young mixed dog

Description

I hate to be writing this since we love our boy so much, however our circumstances have changed within our home dynamic and unfortunately can not continue to care for him. I have been promoted with work which requires more travel and not being home as much and cannot care for Kona as much as we have been. My husband’s health has been getting worse making it difficult for Kona to be cared for while I am away. Unfortunately, as well loved as Kona is he is starting to add to the stress of my husband’s health and my traveling. We love Kona Deeply and need to do what’s best for him at this point. Kona is just over 2 years old and one of the best dogs we have ever met! Kona came to us from craigslist and was extremely nervous which he is still working through. He takes longer to warm up to men. He’s AMAZING with children and has been gentle with our cat. He is also very well behaved when meeting other dogs. When we adopted Kona he had to be given CBD treats daily for his anxiety, He no longer needs them. He has come along way while being with us for the past year. We keep him update to date on all shots and had him fixed. We bring him to the groomers for a good bath once a month and I have been working within him on getting comfortable with brushing his teeth. Kona is a one-of-a-kind dog! He barks to protect his home and has NEVER nipped or bitten anyone. He is a calm dog and loves to relax and snuggle. He is playful as well but knows when to calm down when told. It breaks our hearts to have to think about rehoming our guy! However, we need to do what’s best for Kona, and we know he needs to be in a home with a yard where he can sunbath and enjoy the grass and fresh air.
