Join us for a four week workshop taking place on the last four Sundays of August led by Professor Artista of Gingarte Capoeira. Get outside and try something new !! Capoeira …is an Afro-Brazilian art form that helps improve your health, balance, focus & general well being through music, movement & martial arts. This series of workshops is for all levels but will focus on the practice of the fundamentals & the history. Capoeira movements are fluid and sometimes acrobatic. They are also accompanied by the singing of traditional songs & the playing of instruments . Each week you will learn new sequences of attacks & escapes, learn how to play and sing songs, and complete other interesting physical & mental challenges that will bring about strength & growth. These classes are sure to be a fun time! Come and experience this unique & beautiful art form that has helped to unite communities for centuries. Vamos jogar !! (Let’s play) - Professor Artista Classes will take place on the following Sundays from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at Emricson Park in Woodstock, IL: August 8, August 15, August 22, and August 29. There is a one time payment of $100 that will reserve your spot for the entire course of the workshop. Emricson Park is located at: 1313 Kishwaukee Valley Rd, Woodstock, IL 60098 We will meet at the top of the hill overlooking the pond each week.
