We are Martial Arts Enthusiasts exploring the Filipino Martial Arts from Functional Tactical Skills to Stage Combat for Film Come out & try a Free Kali Class! Functional Tactical Defensive Skills to Film Combat (1st Class is FREE!) Whether you are a someone looking for effective Self Defense Skills with or without weapons, or someone looking to enhance your skills as an Actor, Stuntman, Athlete, Fighter or Martial Artist; Beginner or Advanced, this class is for you. Kali, Escrima & Arnis are Filipino Martial Arts whose names are sometimes used interchangeably and can also be referred to also as FMA. These are weapon based martial arts, which mean that weapons are usually taught first, to provide a quicker and enhanced learning curve due to the increased weight resistance, coordination and the simple reality that an attacker would more likely be armed, rather than not. Generally, the transition to empty hand self defense striking, trapping, locking, grappling and submission techniques is seamless with some minor tactical adjustments. You will start off your first day wielding two weapons, in various simple patterns, developing you ambidexterity, coordination and brain plasticity. You will end up learning how to manipulate various weapons, including empty hand techniques for self-defense, while developing your discipline, in a friendly and communal environment, meeting new people and getting some exercise for both the mind and body. Remember, your First class is always FREE. Open to all levels, abilities and styles. Please wear appropriate athletic clothing. Bring water and your personal training gear if available. (Sticks, Boxing Equipment, etc.) Gear will be provided if needed.
