Author. Leadership Coach. Jason Hanash is the founding pastor of Discovery Church. He strongly believes that God's mission for the local church is to be a lighthouse for the Good News and to help people discover their God-given destiny. His messages are relevant, practical and aimed for life-change. He has a passion for planting new churches and raising up leaders. Discovery started with 6 people in a living room, and within 5 years grew to over 1400 people and 3 campuses. Discovery Church was named one of the fastest growing churches in America. Discovery Church started with the dream of being a leadership factory that sends out people into the mission field and being a church planting church. Jason and his wife Veronica were born and raised in Bakersfield and have three children. Saturday, October 23rd 5:30 - 7:30 PM Russ Chambers Pastor Russ Chambers is a church planter, evangelist, and leadership coach in Bakersfield, California. He and a team of eight moved and planted what is now Resurrection Church in 2009, where he has served as the Senior Pastor for 12 years. Throughout the lifetime of his ministry in California, they have seen over 1000 first time professions of faith and baptized over 700. He is married to his wife of 14 years Morgan, and they have three beautiful children Macie (9), Luke (7), and Norah (4). Pastor Russ' main focus is to train, inspire, and equip the people of God to fulfill the Great Commission. Sunday, October 24th 5:30 - 7:30 PM Alberto Bello Alberto has been a visionary from the start. Passionate, driven, and relevant, in encouraging individuals to Know God, Love God, and Love people-that they may maximize their fullest potential here on earth. After rededicating his life to Christ at the age of 22 at Teen Challenge, he answered the call to ministry. He and his wife Ashley, spent their early years in South Central LA and Bakersfield as Youth Pastors, while also serving as student advisors at the Teen Challenge Ministry Institute. In 2013, they planted a church in Los Angeles, The Gathering LA, and also hosted a television show based on the mission of their church called “Life in the City” via the TBN Salsa Network. Pastor Alberto served as the lead campus pastor for New Season with Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, and worked as the marketing director for the NHCLC, (National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference). Following the time he spent in Sacramento, he served as Associate Pastor at Bakersfield First Assembly of God, where they once served as Youth Pastors. Today, Pastor Alberto alongside his wife are lead Pastors of a new church plant called The Collective in the city of Bakersfield, California. Alberto and his wife Ashley have been married for 12 years and have 4 children: Brooklyn (12), Talia (8), Mateo (6), and Milo (15months). Their greatest joy is to be a part of the journey in the life of others as they encounter God in a relevant and powerful way. We know that community involvement and support is an essential component of recovery and necessary to providing services that address the specific needs of the communities involved. Teen Challenge has been an effective solution to life-controlling problems for thousands of people for more than 50 years. We offer a variety of outreach programs, and we have a one-year residential drug recovery program for men and women over the age of 18. The one-year program is designed to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our students. Over the course of their stay, we provide Christian discipleship classes, individual advising sessions, vocational training, basic computer classes, GED certificate and high school diploma courses and curriculum designed to help each student re-integrate into society. Ours is a missional movement that unashamedly follows Christ, embraces servant leadership, and shares transforming grace.
