The Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Queen of Angels Foundation will host a Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles Office of Ethnic Ministry and the Queen of Angels Foundation will host “Many Peoples, One Mother” Mass in honor of Our Lady of the Angels, Patroness of the City and the Archdiocese. The Votive Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop José H. Gomez at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 3 p.m. (the entrance procession will start at 2:30 p.m.). A Rosary Procession will follow on the Cathedral Plaza at 4:30 p.m. All are invited to join members of the many cultures represented in the Archdiocese, papal orders (Order of Malta, Order of the Holy Sepulcher, Order of St. Lazarus, Order of St. Gregory) and fraternal service orders (Knights of Columbus, Knights of Peter Claver) from across the Archdiocese of Los Angeles ---which encompasses the counties of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura--- to pray for unity among all peoples. The observance of the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels dates back to September 1781 when settlers founded “El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora de Los Ángeles.” The Mass will be livestreamed on facebook.com/lacatholics.
