Learn how to join pieces of metal through project oriented welding. Different types of welding will be explored in these 6 hour courses. WELDING 101 - 6 Hour StudyLearn how to join pieces of metal through the different types of welding! This course will offer an overview of different welding processes emphasizing sound welds with sufficient penetration. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas and aesthetics.  Creative guidance will focus on the creation of table top, garden and yard art with scrap metal.  Limited metal will be supplied. Unless specific in the description of the course, participants are encouraged to discuss individual projects with staff to ensure proper materials are obtained. Additional materials and fees will be the participant's responsibility. Ages: 16+ Available dates & times Welding 101 - Crash Course Candle Sticks Saturday, July 24; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.This intro to welding class will focus on the safety and working basics of fabricating with metal, multi-process welders, and other metalworking tools. Participants will learn how to prep material as well as design, fabricate, and finish individual candle sticks. Because of the short duration of this workshop, participants will work with a limited, but ample selection of materials that will be included with the class fee. Fee: $120 Welding 101- Multi-process fundamentals with Kris Graper Saturday, August 21; 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Your 101 class will guide you through set-up and usage of multiple welding processes. This is meant to be an introduction to gain a little experience with each process, or focus on a particular process. Mig, stick, oxy-acetylene, and plasma cutting will be overviewed. Because of the short duration of this class, we will supply enough small scrap material for you to gain a working knowledge of these processes. We will not supply material for you to build specific individual projects. If you’d like to fabricate unique projects or have ideas for your time in the program, you will need to purchase and bring the stock particular to your needs ahead of time.
