Kevin Sorbo will be kicking off our speaker series live at MVP3 Studios on August 12th. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to Life Choices. Kevin is a Christian and faith-based actor with many years of success in the television and film industry. He speaks unapologetically about his views, his life and his faith. Kevin will be speaking to Abortion: The War of Life and will cover topics from his personal health problems, the war on slavery, and the war abortion. You don't want to miss this eye-opening speech that so strongly supports pro life and Christian beliefs. Kevin's Bio In 1993, Kevin emerged as a full fledged international TV star when he was cast as the lead role of Hercules in a series of TV films that would lay the groundwork for the immensely popular series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys which went on to become the most watched TV show in the world. After Hercules’ seven year run, Sorbo took over the helm as Captain Dylan Hunt on Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda for a five year run as the number one show in first run syndication. Sorbo has starred in over 60 movies including, Kull the Conquerer, Walking Tall: The Payback, Abel’s Field, The Girl Who Believes in Miracles, and Gallows Road. The independent film “What If” was nominated for Best Family Movie of the Year by the Movie Guide Awards. Sorbo also received the Movie Guide Award for Most Inspirational Performance of the Year. Sorbo also starred alongside Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt in “Soul Surfer”, And the faith-based movie, “God’s Not Dead”. The $2 million-dollar budgeted movie became the most successful independent faith-based movie ever with over $130 million in theatrical, streaming and DVD sales. “Let There Be Light” was a movie he directed/acted/produced and this faith/family movie ranked number 4 out of the top 10 family movies of that year.. Filming completed in his most recent movie, “Miracle in East Texas”, a Comedy based on a true story set in 1930. Sorbo directed/acted and produced the movie and it will open nationwide in 2021. Sorbo also produced/narrated the documentary, “Against the Tide” that follows the career of Oxford math professor John Lennox in his life-long apologist debates against the world’s most famous atheists like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. Another documentary he narrates released in 2020 is “Before the Wrath” which chronicles the Book of Revelation. The major motion picture, “Reagan”, with Dennis Quaid playing the late President with Sorbo has his pastor will release in the Spring of 2022. Shooting begins August 2021 for the next “Left Behind” movie with Sorbo directing and acting in the movie based off the Jenkins/LaHaye award winning books. Sorbo will also be filming “Trail Blazers”, a faith based western in 2021 along with another movie he is directing/acting in, “Carpool Lane” along with Dean Cain. Kevin released his memoir “True Strength: My Journey from Hercules to Mere Mortal and How Nearly Dying Saved My Life”. The book chronicles his near-death experience when he suffered three strokes and the battle back to regain his life. He also co-wrote the follow up book, “True Faith, Embracing Adversity to Live in God’s Light”, with his wife, Sam. Kevin guest starred on the sitcom Two and a Half Men and played a recurring role on the final season of The O.C. One glimpse at Kevin's IMDB page and it's clear that this hard working actor takes no breaks! Sorbo married actress Sam Jenkins, whom he met during her guest appearance on Hercules in 1998. They have three children together, Braeden, Shane and Octavia. Besides his successful career in entertainment, Kevin has always devoted a hearty portion of his time to causes he believes in. In 2005 he was named successor to Arnold Schwarzenegger as the national spokesperson for The Afterschool Alliance, a nonprofit working to ensure that all children have access to quality after school programs, and since ‘97 Kevin has donated his time as the spokesperson for the non profit organization, A World Fit For Kids which has been the number one after school program in the state of California now for 24 years.
