Description
The Victory Highway route was planned “to serve the people in times of peace and government in time of war.” Thursday, August 12, 1:30 p.m. Second Thursday Talk (In Person In the Theatre) The Victory Highway Presented by Jim Bonar, Director Nevada Chapter, Lincoln Highway Association The Victory Highway route was planned “to serve the people in times of peace and government in time of war.” As opposed to many other named highways, the overall alignment of the route was determined first, then assistance sought from intersecting municipalities. No detours to participating cities or detours around non-participating cities were made. This national level of planning diverges from the model used for other named highways, including the Lincoln Highway. Some areas of the country presented challenges. Learn about these challenges and where the highway was located across the Country. The Talk will be held in person in the Museum's Theatre followed by refreshments, no reservations required. Coffee courtesy of Darkshot Coffee. Cost: Free to members, included with the price of admission, otherwise $5. It will be held on Thursday, August 12th at 1:30 p.m., in the Museum's Theatre. Enjoy a 30-minute talk, Q&A, refreshments and a unique piece of history. Don’t miss “One of America’s Top Ten Automobile Museums.” The National Automobile Museum (The Harrah Collection) has a “Wow!” factor you don’t often find in a museum.
