This course serves as an introduction to the major wine regions of France, Italy, and Spain and the concept of “terroir” (or “somewhereness”) that makes “Old World” wines so iconic. *Prior Wine 101 suggested but not required. This four-session course includes all wine and instruction for four sessions. Tuesday | AUG 24 SESSION 1 - FRANCE: An introduction to the concept of EUROPEAN WINES and its appelaltion laws + an introduction to the wines of France ***PLEASE NOTE - Session 1 is extra long and typically lets out by 8:30pm*** Wednesday | AUG 25 SESSION 2 - SPAIN: An Introduction to the classic and historic wines of Spain Thursday | AUG 26SESSION 3 - ITALY : An Introduction to the classic and historic wines of Italy (this clas typically runs 20-30 minutes long). Friday | AUG 27SESSION 4- THE SPARKLING AND FORTIFIED WINES OF EUROPE: We explore the traditional sparkling wines of Italy, Spain, and France as well as dive into the lore and legend of some of Europe's most famous and historic wines. Registration is required prior to the start date and time of Seminar.
