We dive into the wines regions which kiss the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean sea and explore what makes them unique. A B O U TCalled the “Mare Nostrum” (our sea) by the Romans the Mediterranean has long been the conduit of trade, culture, and the vine throughout the ancient west and near-east. The warm Mediterranean’s influence of on the ancient wine regions which it kisses is an indelible part to what makes those wines unique. In this WINE COURSE we delve explore the history, styles, and wines of the Mediterranean coasts of SPAIN, FRANCE, and ITALY and discuss what makes them singular and how they fit into your everyday life. This three-session course includes all wine and instruction for four sessions. Tuesday | AUG 17 SESSION 1 - "Seaside Spain": We explore the wines of the Catalunya and Alicante wine region(s) Wednesday | AUG 18 SESSION 2 - "Coastal France": We explore the wines of the southern French coast and review the regions of Corbieres, Languedoc, Cassis, Provence, and the southern Rhone Thursday | AUG 19SESSION 3 - "Italian Seascape" : While Italy may be a peninsula and sorrounded by water we focus on wines from Sicily, Puglia, Campania, and Sardinia Registration is required prior to the start date and time of Seminar.
