Gold Beams is returning Second Mondays, its signature open mic series for Black creatives, with the Black Joy Parade! Free drinks anyone? Second Mondays is Back with the Black Joy Parade! Over an entire year later and Second. Mondays. is. BACK. Presenting another very special addition with our friends at Black Joy Parade which means more joy, bigger venue, positive vibes, and cash grand prizes for the top 3 open mic winners. What to Expect: First 100 drinks on us 😛. On that note, this event is 21+. The Second Mondays stage is open for 5 mins performances by Black creatives which can include music, poetry, dance or whatever else your Black heart and soul desires. In classic open mic fashion, the night ends with a vote on the community favs + a dope freestyle session open to all. Plus there will be Black vendors, food for purchase, and a FREE cocktail for the first 100 folks. What to Do: Doors and open mic list open at 6pm sharp. Stage is first come first sign up so if you really want to get on, make sure to be there on time. For all hopeful artists, please come prepared with your music - a link or file ready to be emailed to the DJ on site. For those coming to enjoy the expressions and vibes, sounds will be provided by Tofu Jack. Black Artists Making A Career From Their Art: Both Gold Beams and Black Joy Parade are fully committed to supporting Black art and artists with opportunities to show off, get paid and build real careers from their work. Second Mondays is just another example of this - art, artists and communion #FUBU. Prizes: First Place: $1,000 Second Place: $500 Third Place: $250 The first place winner will also receive a music video produced by the Black Film Connect with a $1,500 production budget that comps two pre-production meetings, the full services of a professional videographer for one full production day and the full services of an editor, plus a modest prop & location rental budget that stimulates artistic expression.
