ABOUT THE ARTIST: Shoe designer Selena McCartney and her passion for footwear has turned into a skyrocketing career in a highly competitive industry. With over 20 years of experience as a shoe designer, she has taken her distinctive eye and skills to the next level – and is teaching others The Art of Shoemaking. Entirely self taught, Selena learned how to sketch, prototype and make shoes by hand while spending time in the Steve Madden shoe factory. McCartney spent five years at Steve Madden before pursuing her own aspirations. She designed for Frye and then was the head designer for Calvin Klein for five years before becoming a consultant. Some of the shoe brands she has designed or consulted for include Corso Como, House of Harlow, The Gap, and Rachel Zoe.
