Come explore our tree nursery where we're working to grow hundreds of species of trees from around the world and right here in Newport. The NTC Heritage Tree Center, also known as the “Tree House,” is perched near Rogers High School within view of Ballard Park. Join us to learn about historic preservation through horticulture and other current projects. Participants will get a behind the scenes tour and have the opportunity to explore the exceptional collection of heritage and specimen trees. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the Heritage Tree Center during the peak season. Location description: The program will take place at NTC's Heritage Tree House at Rogers High School, with parking in the lot on Old Fort Road. Navigate to the closest address (101 Old Fort Road, Newport, RI 02840), and the entrance of the lot will be directly after that. Look for signs and follow the sidewalk up the hill to the greenhouse. Working hand-in-hand with the City of Newport's Division of Forestry, the Newport Tree Conservancy is is dedicated to protecting, celebrating and replanting Newport's legendary urban forest.
