Workshop Weekend- Saturday 7/31/21 11-12 Farm Tour & Intro to Agroecology 1-4 Garden Tour and Salve Making Workshop w/ Wellspring Apothecary This hands-on, skills building workshop is being offered by Movement Ground Farm and Wellspring Apothecary. This workshop will take place on unceded Pauquunaukit Wampanoag land (anglicized as Pokanoket, literally, "land at the clearing" in Natick). From 11:30 to 12:30, there will be a farm tour led by Movement Ground Farmer, Kohei Ishihara. We will then break out into a short introduction and discussion on Agroecology, the greater food system, and connecting to the land. This part of the workshop is optional for folks and a free add -on. Folks need to arrive later should arrive around 12:45 for the start of the second workshop. At 12:30 pm, we will break for a short lunch. Please bring your own lunch as only drinks will be provided by the farm. At 1, Mimi Budnick of Wellspring will lead us in a tour of the new perennial herb garden, talk about the vision for the space, meet some of the plants that are growing there and learn about their uses. Then we’ll shift and dive into the basics of making salves and lip balms. Together we’ll make enough for everyone to take some home! Registration:To register for the event, please click the 'Tickets' button above. Ticket prices are on a sliding scale based on need. Please buy tickets for every individual member of your group, including children. Space is limited and we need to have an accurate count for supplies and facilitation. Only 20 total tickets are available. Proceeds from the event will go to supporting Movement Ground Farm's Educational Programming, recultivating the central role of food and land in nourishing our bodies, strengthening our communities, and growing a more just world. Presenters- Mimi Budnick is a queer yoga teacher and herbalist based in Providence, Rhode Island. She is the founder of Wellspring Apothecary and offers an Herbal CSA, workshops, and individual consultation. Over the years herbal medicine has been a way for Mimi to engage with the wisdom of elders and immigrants in her community, a catalyst for connection and relationship building, a way that she can materially provide support to people, and a vehicle for helping people take control of their healing and build autonomy.
