She championed education, civil rights and economic empowerment and her ultimate legacy is Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Shirlyon McWhorter, a proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman is committed to Dr. Bethune's legacy. She founded McWhorter Law, a Florida Law Firm specializing in probate, trust administration, and estate planning for individuals, families and business owners to make a difference.
