Description
The cook-out was so well-appreciated in June (even though they had to eat-in), they repeated that event for the July meeting. It ended up being a night where they could eat and meet outside -- without rain. No one took the comfortable weather for granted. To add to the wonderful night, lodge President Paula Sasso arranged for an ice cream truck to make a stop. Members felt like kids again when they heard the music and saw the ice cream novelty choices. It was a fun surprise. Thanks to new business owner Nicole Wall for bringing The Rolling Cones truck to our meeting. Also, thanks to Laurie Rizzo of Laurie's 9:09 and members for the excellent meal.
This year's scholarship recipients were announced. Congratulation to Class of '21 high school graduates Benjamin Larsen and Nicolas Lucarini. We wish you much success and are glad to be able to help in this way.
In other business, members were asked to save Thursday October 28, 2021, as the date for our Annual Charity Auction. Due to the popularity of this event, it will be held at St. Josephs' Parish Hall, which can accommodate a larger group. Dinner will be served, and 'mystery' items will be auctioned off. More details will follow as the event gets closer. If any local businesses would like to contribute an item for this fundraiser, please contact Paula Sasso.
As discussed previously, Bocce-for-Fun will be held on Tuesday July 27 at 6:00 p.m. Anyone interested in playing should meet at the Stoneham Senior Center, 136 Elm St. Teams will be formed based on who comes to play. Non-players are welcome to attend and watch, also.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 10, again in Stoneham. Please contact President Paula for information about attending or about joining the Lodge at [email protected].
