The EPIC Emotional 5K Fundraising Dinner continues our efforts to shed light on the prevalence of mental illness, suicide and addiction. This is your opportunity to be among those who support and contribute to the positive growth and development of youth, who are, and others, who will suffer. In a time of uncertainty, mental and physical well-being are critical to the continued growth and development of each us. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in August 2020 that symptoms of anxiety had tripled and depression symptoms had quadrupled among adults as compared to results from 2019. Meanwhile, mental health services have been stretched worldwide. Though, we have all experienced a certain level of anxiety and depression, the COVID -19 pandemic has facilitated the prevalence of those symptoms and more. Educator's Joshua Miller and Adam Robertson are fondly remembered today because of their battles lost last year. Not only will the EPIC 5K Memorial Run/Walk make an impact on local communities and fellow educators but, also, for the Miller and Robertson families. We are eager to provide participants with resources to shed light on mental and physical well-being while celebrating those who suffer daily and honoring those who have lost their mental and physical health battles. proceeds will fund The EPIC Memorial 5K Scholarships. Hi! I'm Joycelyn Wells. Author, Writer, Host of Joy Exposed Podcast, CEO, of mySHAPE.solutions and founder of Growing Men, Inc (501c3). As of a lover of people, it is critical for me to provide a safe and loving space for others to grow. I've always held a natural curiosity of men in regards to their strength, mental fortitude and decision making skills. As an educator, it was important for me to identify ways in which to aid in the growth of the growing men in my classroom. What, of myself, could I give to facilitate the growth and positive identity development of those assigned to me? As a solutions expert, I have decided to hone the gifts of me in an attempt to provide a solid foundation for growing men everywhere.. Though, most are without choice as to which problems become a part of their lives; it has always been my goal to provide solutions to positive mental and emotional health. Thereby, unveiling the pathways to the greatness that awaits each of them. Here at Growing Men, We are the Foundation!
