ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — After restoring two historical buildings, the city of Zephyrhills is offering the spaces for lease with incentives to businesses that drive foot traffic to the growing downtown area.
The 2,365-square-foot Captain Jeffries House at 38537 5th Ave. and the 1,320-square-foot Carriage House at 5323 9th St. are historical buildings the city of Zephyrhills recently restored.
In the heart of downtown, both buildings are a short walk to the popular Zephyrhills Brewing Company, Your Turn Board Game Cafe and Gentlemen's Quarters Barber Shop.
The city of Zephyrhills has opened a request for proposals to secure leases on each of the spaces. Lease dates can start as early as Oct. 1 with the city of Zephyrhills potentially offering incentives such as zero lease payments for a period of time and assistance with remodeling costs to business owners who also invest in the property and generate traffic to downtown.
"The downtown district has been evolving over the past few years into an area that draws our community members, and even people who don't live in Zephyrhills, to it," Community Redevelopment Agency Director Gail Hamilton said. "It's got a very Main Street vibe, with the brick sidewalks, music throughout, string lights and businesses that people enjoy frequenting. We are looking for businesses that will continue to add to the walkability and excitement of our downtown."
