Come make a Scandinavian Knife! Choose your own Finnish blade and craft a custom handle from wood, leather, antler, and brass. Come make a Scandinavian Knife!  Choose your own Finnish blade and craft a custom handle from wood, leather, antler and brass.  Day 1 (09/13/21):  We will begin by outlining the process of making the knives. Next you will pick your blades (many types available, from small carving blades, to drop points, to hunting).  We will then cut and epoxy the materials for the handle.  The first day will be pretty full so its possible that we will go a little long.  Day 2 (09/20/21): We will start shaping the handles. Rough shaping can be done on the bandsaw and with stationary sanders.  Then finer shaping is done with files and hand sanding. Final shaping with sandpaper and finish rasp work on all materials of the knife.  Then finishing with tung oil, poly, or wax finish.
