MEDFORD, MA — The daily rate of coronavirus cases in Medford is the highest it's been since April, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said Wednesday, attributing the spike to the Delta variant. The case count has reached as high as 8 per day over the past week.
The mayor encouraged residents to get vaccinated, saying while there have been "breakthrough" cases, people who are vaccinated are less likely to experience severe symptoms, transmit the virus or be hospitalized.
Medford will hold a walk-up vaccine clinic in the parking lot behind City Hall on July 28 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. There are also dozens of locations throughout Medford where walk-in patients can get vaccinated. Visit vaxfinder.mass.gov for more information.
