Library Card Design Contest Accepting Submissions Through July 31

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — The Manatee County Public Library System is asking the community for help with designing new library cards. The libraries will be rolling out a new key tag option for its library cards and need some fresh new designs to get people excited about using the library, MCPLS said in a news release. The contest is open to all Manatee County residents, and it will be split into three age groups: youth up to age 10, teenagers ages 11 to 17, and adults 18 and older. Submissions will be accepted through July 31. A panel consisting of library staff members will judge the entries and determine winners for each category. All artwork must be original, previously unpublished, and free of copyright restrictions, the library system said. Like what you're reading? Artwork will be judged on creativity, design, and how well the artwork represents the library's message "Your Learning Connection." Upon submission, participants grant the Manatee County Public Library System all rights to the artwork and consent that all artwork may be displayed and/or reproduced without limitation and without compensation, the library system said. Entries must be accompanied by a signed entry form. There is a limit of one entry per person. Submissions shouldn't include the artist's name on the artwork.
