Cuvaison Estate Wines is a family-owned winery producing Estate grown wines from our Los Carneros and Mount Veeder vineyards in Napa Valley, California. We also provide a discreet amount of Custom Crush, working with some of the finest vineyards in Napa, Sonoma and beyond, and an opportunity to observe and learn to make a broad range of wines and wine styles in one setting. We are a small team so everyone matters greatly and is integral to our success. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated interns for the 2021 harvest! This temporary, full-time position is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of winemaking, among a diverse team of people and winemakers. Cuvaison Estate focuses primarily on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from our Carneros Estate, and Cabernet Sauvignon from our Mt. Veeder Estate. We also make small amounts of sparkling wine, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Zinfandel. In addition, we offer custom crush services for several highly regarded winemakers. This internship is a great opportunity to learn winemaking from an incredible group of winemakers, grapes and vineyards - all in one setting. This internship starts mid-August and lasts through mid November. Harvest cellar interns assist the winery production team with a myriad of tasks including but not limited to: +Grape sorting +Grape crushing and pressing +Juice and wine transfers +Pump-overs and punch-downs +Drain and press operations +Barrel filling +Equipment and cellar sanitation +Follow safe operating procedures Requirements: +Cellar production experience is preferred but NOT required +Reliable +Positive attitude +Ability to follow directions and work independently +Good communication skills Must have ability to work: +In both outdoor and indoor environments, in hot and cold climates +On wet surfaces +In high places +Near forklift trucks and moving, winemaking equipment +Near loud noises and machinery +Overtime hours, 6-7 days/week
