FAIRFIELD, CT — Three men, including one from Stratford, were recently charged in connection with an unsanctioned car show in downtown Fairfield, according to police. Ryan W. Silver, 21, of Fairfield; George Desmond, 18, of Fairfield; and Nicholas Ramirez, 28, of Stratford, are all charged with reckless driving, police said. The show took place July 11 at the Brick Walk Plaza on the Post Road, according to police, who said they received multiple complaints about excessive noise and unsafe driving. Authorities chose not to engage with the event, citing recent statutory restrictions on police pursuits, and instead monitored the show and identified violators for future law enforcement action, authorities said, adding more arrests in connection with the incident are possible. "The Fairfield Police Department takes any complaint of reckless or aggressive driving seriously," police said in a news release. Anyone who sees such driving is asked to contact law enforcement at 203-254-4800.
