Press release from University of Wisconsin - Green Bay:
July 20, 2021
Mardie Timken (center) '96 (BSN completion), has come full circle, and now the student is the teacher.
Timken visited the Green Bay Campus recently as a nurse educator with Elsevier, a company providing supporting software and materials for the new Bachelor of Science in Nursing four-year degree program's concept-based curriculum.
Prof. Christine Vandenhouten, chair of Nursing & Health Studies (far left) and Nursing Lecturer Jenna Liphart Rhoads (far right), learned about using new scanners that connect mannequins used for simulation learning, to the electronic patient records. This helps students learn all aspects of providing medications and treatment. Timken, who splits her residency between Phoenix, Ariz., and McFarland, Wis., has held several nursing-related roles including acute care positions, and previously taught in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
